Our framework

Our structure starts at the grandparent farm, where the foundation is laid for strong, healthy lines. From there, the piglets grow up under optimal conditions at our sow farms, before reaching their full potential in the finishing barns.

Behind every barn is a dedicated caretaker who looks after the animals with passion and expertise. Discover a glimpse of our supply chain – and the people behind it!

Grandparent farm

At our grandparent farm, we breed the mother pigs that go on to produce pork pigs. We’ve developed our own special crossbreed, focusing on strong, calm animals that produce high-quality meat. By trying out different genetic lines and working closely with a test farm, we’re constantly improving. This way, we can keep raising the bar when it comes to taste, quality, and animal well-being.

"By improving ease of work and creating structure, we make sure no detail is overlooked."

Sow farms

All our piglets are born on our own sow farms; we don’t buy piglets from other producers. This ensures a uniform origin, which benefits animal health and traceability. By keeping our pigs together from birth, we minimize health risks and guarantee consistent quality.

Slaughter facility

Eifelfair animals are slaughtered in a local facility, where strict compliance with legal regulations is ensured through continuous monitoring by the Federal Agency for the Safety of the Food Chain. Animal welfare is overseen by veterinarians, and the carcasses are immediately chilled after slaughter to prevent bacterial growth. The meat is cut exclusively by skilled professionals, ensuring high standards of craftsmanship and impeccable hygiene.
